Cycling 2012 - Mile 1100 - Escena del accidente mortal
New rule - it's getting a little too difficult to strategically land on an exact mile multiple of 100, and have it be something photo-worthy. Now I'm gonna use photos from a multiple of 100 ride, not the exact mile. These photos, which were available at both 1085 miles and 1098 miles are the death spot of the unfortunate Mr. Cornelio Hernandez, who was driving containers of delicious NJ peaches downhill where he lost control, hit the bridge at Oldman's Creek and was crushed to death. His co-workers and possibly family have shown great care -
For the record, and to lift the mood here's exactly at mile 1100:

Cycling 2012 - Mile 500
Milestone - literally - on the side of the road in the rushes. I was going to go down Pennsville-Auburn Road but lately there's been a lot of bad ..... mojo on that road, and while I have a scientific mind, I just wanted to let the moribund vibe get washed away with the rain.
So down King's Highway I went - it was beautiful going but the return was so windy that it was like walking back.

Mile 700 - Christmas Day 2011
Two sides of Harrisonville Lake:
Rough side, looking at the spillway through the road bridge arch atop hurricane-washed roots.
Pretty side of the lake from the bridge, with a fallen sycamore making its own mirror image.
Probably last o' the year owing to the fact that I am up to breaking a spoke every 20-40 miles, and either need to replace or re-lace my rear wheel. Probably replace, owing to some questionable wear on the hub.
HOORAY!!!!

Mile 300(s)
Usually this is 25-80 horses, but today it is the gladiators and gladiatrixes for tonight's rodeo. It's quite the spectacle, as PETA protests outside and Members Only clad dee-vor-says watch the pageantry of the opening parade inside. (I am repeating myself) They were a little put off by me photographing them (unlike the horses would have been) mainly because I'm part of that species that will shortly be shoving them, jumping on them, chasing them, antagonizing their babies (which are the kittens of meat) only to end up over some hot charcoal. Okay that last part I'm imagining.

My second stop was to see just why the hell my grapes aren't ripening. it's because they are ripening, just not ready......... these Pinot Grigio (or so I'm told) are still eentsy, and the folks at Auburn Road Winery said whites get harvested around the end of summer which it ain't, yet.

Panorama Bicycle Ride
Frequently Bicycling past here........This is Harrisonville lake. I took shots with an 8mb VGA camera and spliced them together. Old-timey-style. The softness is attractive to me. Click on the pic for link to full-size.
