June Wilkinson Comic Book Ad

...strange that My Little Margie Comics would be featuring an ad with a a star (June Wilkinson)who, at this point, would be famous for being professionally naked. She mentions being in the Continental Twist with Louis Prima, and in the clip below one can see that the Wate-on that kept her going seems to have worked. Then again it was Charlton comics who were the cheapo brand.

The lamp gift

Back when I sold cable-TV I got to a house with an old man who was dying- it turned out he used to be chaplain in a prison and one of the prisoners made this lamp of plexiglass and gave it to him as a gift; his daughter gave it to me as a sort of consolation prize.

Cycling 2012 - Mile 1100 - Escena del accidente mortal

New rule - it's getting a little too difficult to strategically land on an exact mile multiple of 100, and have it be something photo-worthy. Now I'm gonna use photos from a multiple of 100 ride, not the exact mile. These photos, which were available at both 1085 miles and 1098 miles are the death spot of the unfortunate Mr. Cornelio Hernandez, who was driving containers of delicious NJ peaches downhill where he lost control, hit the bridge at Oldman's Creek and was crushed to death. His co-workers and possibly family have shown great care -
For the record, and to lift the mood here's exactly at mile 1100:

Resurrect Dead

Resurrect Dead a superbly directed documentary on the Toynbee tiles phenomenon. Now on Netflix. I'm going to avoid waxing - if you disagree after seeing it - let's duke it out then. One caveat: the Wikipedia article will definitely spoil it for you, so read it afterwards.
