Oh, Someone's 'Avin a Larf, Ain't They?

I had a subscription to SEED the most unreadable science magazine in existence. It's as if the folks at Interview and Nylon said, "Hey! let's do a science magazine! We'll make it all edgy and stuff!"

It's ending. The insert obscuring the front cover had this:

More appropriate for Hustler, wouldn't ya think?

New Hat !!

I bought a hat. It came with instructions, and an overview of its performance.

My favorite part is the new design for recycling they came up with. Delightfully meaningless.

OK, I think I'm back...........................maybe

Listen, I don't know, spit in the ocean, little pebble on the sand, lost out here in the stars, etc., etc., etc.,. Have you an allegory for resolving ennui? I think there's probably a word that's needed that describes resolve of enniu, like, schmepiphany, or, donkeycarrot, or vivapersonatus, or craeinne.
I'm still chock full of interestingness, and plan to deploy it....now. And ongoing,

Need I say it?!?! from the Glyphjockey collection.
See you tomorrow, my very, very, special bitches.
Lastly one more thing:

Black Hula

By Marv Newland on Bambi Meets Godzilla Fame. When I saw it 2 deacades ago it made me cry. The message in the mise-en-scene says it all. I aslo think he unconciously influenced my choice of music (for differing emotional effect)in The Greatest Nancy Panel Ever Drawn Revisited.

Little Town

These images come from a book with the same name as this post. I bought it at a flea market or some place and owing to my parental guilt for being on the road, went over it in great detail with my tiny son. We got to see the world that is gone, yet familiar. He understood, and all my children understand.

The book is by Berta and Elmer Hadler (who knew?- a Wikipedia link.) and published by MacMillan in 1941, dedicated to Gayle. This apparently was their schtick, being Caldecott winners.

The activities happening in a small town (not unlike mine) are described with illustrations containing a plethora of visual features as accompaniment.

It's another world.

Another World, I say.

Mystery: What Pooped Here?

I swear I really have no interest in poop, other than it's successful exit from my person regularly.

However when Mrs. Lex10 pointed this out to me, I knew I had that type of hard-hitting blog reporting that everyone who stops in thirsts for.

This first image shows my little pond out back (taken last night) home to ~2+ frogs along with several goldfish who managed to mature and/or reproduce before they were to big to eat.

The red arrow points to a broken half planter that is meant to look like a submerged ruin, and serves as a perch for the frogs and a hiding place (underneath) for both the frogs and the fish. It is surrounded by water 360 degrees.

Next images: the poop in question. From the looks of it, mammalian. Size appropriate for a large cat or medium dog.

HOW DID IT GET THERE?
Did the animal perch at the edge of the pond making a direct hit on the planter? If a kitty, did it climb onto the planter, seeking to evacuate? What?!?! How?!?!

And more importantly, why in such an improbable location? Why?

Next image: Doodle bugs, wood lice or pill bugs - I don't care what you call them - why are THEY there?!?! Do they eat poop? Do they swim? Why aren't they buried under something? Again I say: What?!?! How?!?! Why?!?!

OK- Wikipedia says they have gills- but I've never seen one swim. They eat decaying matter - but they don't appear to be swarming the poop - more like just coincidentally there......

Sharing=caring.
